Bobcats 95, Kings 87: Kemba Walker scored 24 points and dished out five assists to help host Charlotte turn away Sacramento.
Gerald Henderson added 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and two blocks for the Bobcats, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Ramon Sessions finished with 16 points and six assists off the bench and Al Jefferson added 10 points and nine rebounds for Charlotte.
DeMarcus Cousins scored a game-high 30 points and led all players with 17 rebounds for the Kings, who have lost three of their last four. Isaiah Thomas chipped in with 21 points for Sacramento, which shot 37.5 percent from the field.
The Kings, who came into the game ranked 25th in the league allowing 102 points per game, didn't get the start they wanted with the Bobcats totaling 35 in the opening frame, led by 12 from Henderson. Sacramento trailed by as many as 18 points but cut it to 48-39 on a 15-6 run before six points from Walker in the final 2:40 of the half gave Charlotte a 56-43 lead at intermission.
The Kings stormed back and scored the first seven points of the third quarter as part of a 14-4 run and ultimately sending the game into the final stanza down 78-72. A Jason Thompson layup helped Sacramento pull to within 80-78 just over three minutes into the fourth and the Bobcats answered with an 11-1 run to restore a double-digit lead and keep the Kings at bay down the stretch.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Sacramento G Ben McLemore finished with seven points on 2-of-10 shooting and is now 6-of-35 from the field in his last five games. ... Charlotte C Cody Zeller was initially called for a flagrant foul for a shot to the chest of Kings F Quincy Acy in the third quarter but the penalty was downgraded to an offensive foul after review. ... Sacramento F Rudy Gay had just four points on 1-of-6 shooting and did not return after leaving the game following the third quarter with stiffness in his right knee.
