Knicks 89, Celtics 86: Carmelo Anthony scored 28 points and visiting New York held off a late rally to halt a 13-game losing streak in Boston.

Amar'e Stoudemire added 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench, including a key tip-in down the stretch, as the Knicks sent the Celtics to their fifth consecutive defeat and earned their first win in Boston since November 2006.

Rajon Rondo had his fourth triple-double of the season with 23 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds and Paul Pierce scored 22 points for the Celtics, who haven't won since beating the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 7.

Jeff Green's 3-pointer gave Boston its last lead at 66-65, but Tyson Chandler scored five points in a 7-0 run to close the third quarter as New York carried a 72-66 edge into the fourth.

Anthony hit a 3-pointer and a driving layup to push the lead to 10 points, but Rondo sparked a comeback that cut the deficit to two points before J.R. Smith buried a 3-pointer to make it 89-84 with 71 seconds to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Anthony had his 27th consecutive 20-point game to move past Stoudemire for the third-longest streak in franchise history. ... Rondo notched his 27th career triple-double. He also had one in New York's last visit to Boston in March 2012. ... Chandler was named Thursday as a reserve on the Eastern Conference All-Star team. It marked the first All-Star nod for the 12-year veteran, matching Vlade Divac for the longest stretch before his first selection.
