Heat 97, Suns 88: Chris Bosh scored 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds to help Miami hold off host Phoenix and complete a 4-2 road trip.
LeBron James played despite having the flu and scored 21 points to set a franchise record with 11 consecutive games of 20 or more points to start a season. That breaks the mark previously held by Dwyane Wade, who missed his second straight game due to a foot ailment.
Markieff Morris scored 16 points while Michael Beasley and Shannon Brown added 14 apiece for the Suns, who didn’t score over the final two-plus minutes of the contest.
The Suns went on a 9-2 run to pull within 90-88 on Goran Dragic’s steal and layup with 2:12 remaining. Bosh hit two free throws and James scored on a layup to start a game-ending 7-0 spurt.
Phoenix led by nine points with under five minutes left in the first quarter before Miami rallied for a 52-52 halftime tie. The Heat led 70-67 entering the final stanza.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Bosh has hit 16 of 21 shots in two games against Phoenix this season. … Suns starters Marcin Gortat (four points) and Luis Scola (three) both had poor outings. … Miami’s Shane Battier scored 12 points on four 3-pointers. He has gone 15-of-24 from behind the arc over the last four games.
