KNICKS 103, WIZARDS 65: J.R. Smith scored 23 points and Carmelo Anthony added 18 as host New York beat Washington for the ninth straight time.

Baron Davis tallied a season-high 18 points and Steve Novak also had 18 as the Knicks moved into a tie for Philadelphia for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Tyson Chandler had eight points and 15 rebounds as New York won for the eighth time in 11 games and extended the Wizards' losing streak at Madison Square Garden to eight.

Jordan Crawford scored 17 points to lead Washington, which trailed by only six points midway through the second quarter until Anthony sparked a 16-1 burst as the Knicks opened a commanding 54-33 lead at the half.

The Knicks bolted to a 26-13 first-quarter lead and appeared on the verge of an early knockout, moving ahead 34-15 on Steve Novak's 3-pointer with 7 1/2 minutes left in the second quarter.

Roger Mason came off the bench to rally the Wizards, scoring eight points in a 13-0 run to cut the deficit to 34-28, but the Knicks took off from there and never looked back.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Anthony did all his scoring in the first half. ... Davis had his highest offensive output since scoring 19 against Milwaukee on April 9, 2011. ... The Wizards got as close as 17 points in the third quarter, but managed only two free throws in the final seven minutes. They shot 25 percent (15 of 60) through the first three quarters. Washington hasn't won at Madison Square Garden since Dec. 6, 2006.
