PACERS 92, TRAIL BLAZERS 75: Louis Amundson led five players in double figures with 21 points off the bench but it was the defense that stood out for Indiana, which snapped a four-game slide.
The Pacers allowed the Trail Blazers to shoot just 30.2 percent from the field, including 4 for 21 from beyond the arc. It was the second-lowest scoring output of the season for Portland, which entered Tuesday averaging 98.1 points.
The Blazers (20-22) have dropped six of its last eight games.
Portland is the closest thing to a winning team Indiana has beaten in a while. But it was a return to form on the defensive end for the Pacers, who had climbed the East ladder with strong play on that end in the first six weeks.
The Pacers took control in the first half, grabbing a 48-38 lead at the break as David West scored 10 points and the Blazers shot 30 percent.
Amundson scored 13 points in the third as the Pacers put it away, outscoring the Blazers 27-14 in the frame.
GAME NOTEBOOK: LaMarcus Aldridge was the only player to go over 10 points for the Blazers, finishing with 17 on 5-of-15 shooting. … The Blazers managed to keep it from getting to far out of hand at the free throw line, where they went 30 for 38. … The Pacers dominated the glass, 50-38.
