Dirk Nowitzki had 11 points to become the 23rd player in league history to score 23,000, and the Dallas Mavericks breezed to their fourth consecutive victory by routing the visiting Milwaukee Bucks 102-76 on Friday.
Jason Terry scored 17 and Vince Carter added a season-high 16 as the Mavericks improved to 7-5 after opening the season with three straight losses.
Rodrigue Beaubois netted 15 points as Dallas shot 52 percent (39 of 75) from the floor to drop the Bucks to 0-7 on the road.
Although Nowitzki needed only three points to reach 23,000, the reigning NBA Finals MVP let the suspense build, not hitting the milestone until he buried the first of two free throws with 7:16 left in the second quarter.
Nowitzki came alive in the third quarter, scoring seven in a 14-0 spurt as the Mavericks pushed the lead to 27 (74-47) as they snapped the Bucks' two-game winning streak.
Brandon Jennings scored 19 to lead Milwaukee, which was without center Andrew Bogut due to concussion-like symptoms. Bogut had torched the Mavs for 56 points and 31 boards in his last two visits to Dallas.
