Eric Gordon scored nine of his 29 points in the final three minutes as the Los Angeles Clippers escaped with a 98-91 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Monday.

Ryan Gomes added 17 points off the bench and Blake Griffin chipped in 13 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for Los Angeles.

The Clippers controlled the middle part of the game, outscoring the Kings by 20 points between the second and third quarters. They took a 79-63 lead into the fourth quarter and looked to be in complete control until Sacramento woke up, getting five points from Pooh Jeter and four from DeMarcus Cousins in a 12-0 run to open the fourth.

The Kings took an 86-85 lead when Omri Casspi completed a three-point play with 5:13 left. They pushed it to as much as 91-87 before Los Angeles came back, tying it at 91 apiece on Gordon’s layup with 1:37 left and taking the lead back when Gordon drained a three-pointer 50 seconds later.

Casspi finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds off the bench and Tyreke Evans had 16 points for Sacramento, which has lost eight in a row.
