Zach Randolph collected 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Memphis Grizzlies bounced back from an ugly loss with a 104-95 road victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
Mike Conley added 22 points and nine assists and Sam Young scored 16 points for the Grizzlies, who were blown out Tuesday night by a Denver Nuggets team that dressed only nine players following the Carmelo Anthony trade.
Memphis came out with more intensity Wednesday, holding Minnesota to six baskets in the first quarter to grab a 26-18 lead. The Grizzlies quickly stretched it to double figures in the second quarter and led, 54-42, at the break.
The Timberwolves got back into it with a 10-3 run to close the third quarter and pulled within 81-78 on Wayne Ellington’s 3-pointer early in the fourth period but could not close the gap.
Kevin Love recorded his 44th straight double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds for Minnesota, which has dropped six in a row.
