Russell Westbrook recorded a triple-double with 35 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists and Kevin Durant scored 10 of his 40 points in the second extra session as the Oklahoma City edged the Washington Wizards, 124-117, in double overtime on Friday.
Jeff Green chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Thunder, who have won two straight and three of four.
Washington fell to 0-22 on the road.
The Wizards used a big third quarter to take an 80-75 lead into the fourth but quickly watched that edge disappear as Oklahoma City ripped off an 8-2 spurt to begin the final frame. Washington was up by four points with 2:55 left when the Thunder made a final push, getting five straight points from Westbrook and a jumper from Durant to take a 102-99 lead.
Andray Blatche’s layup cut it to a point and Durant split a pair of free throws to make it 103-101 with 16 seconds left. Nick Young’s jumper three seconds later tied it, and Durant missed a chance to win it in regulation at the buzzer.
After the first overtime failed to produce a result, Durant took over in the second, scoring eight straight points during a 10-0 run to put it away.
Young finished with 32 points to lead Washington.
