Eddie House hit the decisive 3-point shot and Dwyane Wade shook off a wrist injury to score a game-high 32 points as the Miami Heat posted a 108-103 victory over the host Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.
LeBron James added 23 points and 13 assists as Miami (33-14) spoiled Oklahoma City’s afternoon on the national stage.
Kevin Durant had 33 points and 10 rebounds for the Thunder (30-17).
Oklahoma City rallied from an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit to take a 103-102 lead on Durant’s basket with 34.3 seconds left before House drilled the go-ahead 3-pointer with 22.2 seconds left. Wade and House each hit two free throws in the final 10 seconds to seal the contest.
Chris Bosh returned from an ankle injury to score 20 points for Miami. Bosh had missed four consecutive contests.
Oklahoma City’s Jeff Green had 23 points and 11 rebounds and Russell Westbrook had 21 points and 10 assists.
Wade hit 13 of 22 shots and grabbed nine rebounds despite nearly missing the contest with a wrist injury.
Oklahoma City’s young guns of Durant and Westbrook combined to make just 12 of 42 field-goal attempts. Durant was 7 of 20 and missed eight straight shots during the second half. Westbrook was just 7 of 22.
