Jason Terry scored all 19 of his points in the fourth quarter as the visiting Dallas Mavericks snapped the Miami Heat’s 12-game winning streak with a 98-96 victory on Monday.
Dirk Nowitzki added 26 points and nine rebounds for Dallas (22-5).
Dwayne Wade had 22 points and seven assists and Chris Bosh had 19 points and eight rebounds for Miami (21-9).
LeBron James had a subpar 6-of-17 shooting performance while recording 19 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. James scored six of his points in the final minute.
Shawn Marion had a season-high 13 rebounds and Caron Butler scored 13 points for the Mavericks, who also beat Miami on Nov. 27, prior to the Heat beginning the 12-game winning streak.
Miami pulled within 91-90 on James’ basket and free throw with 56.8 seconds left. Marion made 3-of-4 free throws and Nowitzki hit two free throws to give Dallas an insurmountable six-point advantage with 12.9 seconds left.
Dallas was 24-of-28 from the free-throw line with Nowitzki making all 10 of his attempts.
