Stephen Jackson put up 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the Charlotte Bobcats past the shorthanded Phoenix Suns 123-105 on Saturday.
Tyrus Thomas added 22 points and six rebounds off the bench and Boris Diaw finished with a team-high 26 points for the Bobcats, who shot 58 percent from the floor.
After Phoenix tied it up at 58-58 early in the third quarter, Charlotte ripped off a 23-6 run to take an 81-64 lead. Thomas scored eight points during the spurt and Jackson added seven more. Diaw ended the third with two straight layups to put the Bobcats on top, 89-74, heading into the final 12 minutes.
The Suns put up a brief fight in the fourth, cutting it to 98-90 with 6:58 left, but Charlotte responded with a 9-0 run over the next two minutes to put it away.
Grant Hill scored 23 points and Hedo Turkoglu chipped in 18 for Phoenix, which was playing its second straight game without point guard Steve Nash due to a groin injury. Without Nash, the Suns managed a total of 19 assists to Charlotte’s 37.
