Danny Granger scored 33 points and the Indiana Pacers notched their first victory of the season, a 104-101 win over the host Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night.
Granger had six 3-pointers before fouling out with 44.9 seconds as the Pacers rallied from a double-digit first-half deficit to beat the Bobcats (0-2).
Charlotte’s Stephen Jackson missed a 3-pointer in the final seconds that would have forced overtime.
Gerald Wallace scored 29 points to pace the Bobcats.
Indiana took its first lead of the second half at 100-98 on Roy Hibbert’s two free throws with 1:28 remaining. Tyler Hansborough, who scored 12 points, made two key free throws with 10.7 seconds left to provide the final margin.
Hibbert added 13 points for the Pacers. D.J. Augustin scored 17 points and Boris Diaw added 13 for Charlotte.
Wallace made 12 of 18 free-throw attempts as Charlotte was 35-of-45 from the line. Indiana shot just 24 attempts, making 20.
The Pacers stayed in the game by knocking down 12 3-pointers.
