J.J. Hickson had 28 points and 10 rebounds and Baron Davis had 19 points and 12 assists as the Cavaliers beat the Toronto Raptors 104-96 Wednesday to win consecutive games for the first time in five months.
The Cavs held the Raptors to one basket over the final 3:44 of the second quarter to open a 20-point lead at the half. The Raptors pulled within to six in the fourth quarter, but a jumper from Davis and a dunk from Hickson pushed the lead back to 10 with five minutes left. The Cavs weren’t threatened again.
DeMar DeRozan had 19 points and Reggie Evans had 15 points and 13 rebounds for Toronto, which has dropped eight of its last nine games.
Ryan Hollins had 14 points, Alonzo Gee had 10 and Ramon Sessions had 15 points off the bench for the Cavs, who beat Charlotte on Tuesday and now have their first winning streak since winning three in a row Nov. 5-9. This marks their second winning streak this season.
