Andrea Bargnani scored 26 points and Linas Kleiza led a strong bench effort with 17 as the Toronto Raptors began an extended homestand with a 106-96 victory over the travel-weary Houston Rockets on Friday.
DeMar DeRozan scored 15 points and Jose Calderon came off the bench for 10 points and seven assists for the Raptors, who are starting a stretch of seven home games out of eight after two early-season four-game road trips.
Kevin Martin scored 31 points and added four 3-pointers and Luis Scola contributed 19 points for Houston, which completed a trek that saw six games in six different cities over a 10-day stretch.
The Raptors' bench outscored the Rockets' 46-11, and Toronto shot 30 free throws in the second half after shooting none in the first.
Toronto used an 11-0 run after Martin drained a 3-pointer to build a 91-81 lead with 5 1/2 minutes left in the game. Kleiza started the spurt with a three-point play on a post-up and DeRozan netted four free throws during the run.
Bargnani then stuck a jumper and finished an incredible drive from right-to-left by hanging in the air and finishing with his right hand over Brad Miller to restore a five-point edge with 2:56 left.
