Dwight Howard had 30 points and 17 rebounds and J.J. Redick made some big shots down the stretch as the Orlando Magic cooled off the host Philadelphia 76ers, 99-95, Wednesday night.
Howard made 8-of-13 shots and 14-of-19 free throws for his 12th straight double-double. He entered averaging 23.7 points on 64.4 percent shooting (67-of-104) and 14.7 boards in his previous seven games.
Redick drained a 3-pointer midway through the fourth quarter for an 80-77 lead and added a couple big buckets in crunch time as the Magic held off the Sixers, who had won seven of nine.
Lou Williams scored 23 points off the bench and Andre Iguodala added 21 for Philadelphia.
Orlando used a 15-3 run, getting two dunks from Howard, another from Earl Clark and two hoops apiece from Jameer Nelson and Hedo Turkoglu, to turn a four-point deficit into a 73-65 lead with 1:15 to play in the third period.
However, the Sixers drew even at 77-77 with eight minutes left after Williams swished a jumper and Thaddeus Young scored on a follow.
