Jose Juan Barea scored 19 points and Shawn Marion added 16 points in his second consecutive stellar starting performance to help the Dallas Mavericks defeat the visiting Philadelphia 76ers 99-90 on Friday.
Marion made 8-of-11 shots while again replacing injured Caron Butler in the starting lineup. Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 points and Brendan Haywood grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds as Dallas (6-2) won its third consecutive game.
Thaddeus Young scored a team-high 17 points for the 76ers (2-7).
Philadelphia trailed by just 78-77 early in the fourth quarter before Dallas went on a 10-2 run to pull away.
Jason Terry added 13 points for the Mavericks and Tyson Chandler notched a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Spencer Hawes had 14 points and Andre Iguodala scored 13 for the 76ers.
Nine of Haywood’s 17 rebounds came on the offensive glass.
Marion had 20 points on 10-of-15 shooting against Memphis earlier this week when Butler couldn’t play because of back spasms.
