Freddie Freeman homered and drove in four runs, and Ronald Acuna Jr. went 3-for-5 with a home run and four runs as the Atlanta Braves jumped out to an 11-run lead and then held on for a 12-7 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday in Minneapolis.

Ozzie Albies went 4-for-6 with three runs and two RBIs, including a run-scoring triple to highlight Atlanta's six-run sixth inning. Freeman collected three hits, Brian McCann had two hits and three RBIs, and Ender Inciarte also had two hits for the Braves, who out-hit the Twins 16-10.

Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz (3-5), recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday, allowed three runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out seven and walked two.

Nelson Cruz went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs, and Mitch Garver and Eddie Rosario also went deep for Minnesota. It was the sixth multi-homer game of the season for Cruz, tying the franchise record set by Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew in 1964.

Cruz also moved past Graig Nettles (390) into 62nd place on the all-time home run list with his 391st and 392nd.

Jose Berrios (10-6), who entered the contest with a streak of 12 consecutive games in which he allowed three earned runs or fewer, gave up a career-high nine runs on nine hits and four walks over 5 2/3 innings. He fanned seven.

Acuna hit the first pitch of the game 426 feet off the facing of the second deck above the batter's eye in center field to give the Braves a 1-0 lead. It was the 14th leadoff homer of Acuna's career, three off the franchise record set by Felipe Alou. Acuna has 28 homers this year.

Freeman made it 4-0 in the third with his 28th homer of the season, a three-run drive into the bullpen in left-center.

In the fifth, Albies drove in Acuna, who had singled and stole second, to make it 5-0. The Braves then sent 10 men to bat in the six-run sixth, highlighted by Albies' triple off the top of the wall in right-center, missing a home run by inches, and a two-run single by McCann.

Foltynewicz, who held Minnesota to just a pair of singles by Cruz over the first five innings, was chased in the sixth following a solo home run by Cruz and a two-run homer by Garver, his 21st. The Twins cut it to 11-6 on Cruz's three-run homer in the seventh, his 16th since the All-Star break and 32nd of the year.

McCann extended Atlanta's lead to 12-6 with an RBI single in the eighth. Rosario ended the scoring with a two-out solo home run in the ninth off Shane Greene, his 24th of the year.
