Christian Yelich also homered and had two hits, while Lorenzo Cain and Orlando Arcia each added two hits for the Brewers.

Milwaukee starter Jhoulys Chacin (5-1) gave up five hits and four earned runs in 6 1/3 innings to pick up the win. He struck out seven and walked one.

Phillies starter Vince Velasquez (4-7) allowed a career-high 10 earned runs in 3 2/3 extremely shaky innings, giving nine hits while walking two. Cesar Hernandez had three hits for the Phillies.

The Brewers struck quickly in the first inning when Braun ripped a three-run home run to left off Velasquez for a 3-0 advantage.

Arcia added an RBI single in the second for a 4-0 lead. Cain followed with an RBI double two batters later, extending the Milwaukee advantage to 5-0.

In the fourth, Cain knocked an RBI single to right, scoring Arcia for a commanding 6-0 lead. The lead expanded to 8-0 when Aguilar slammed a two-run double to deep right. Nick Williams sprinted to the ball and had a chance to make the catch, but it bounced off the wall and two runs scored.

Travis Shaw then doubled to right, scoring Aguilar for a 9-0 lead.

After Velasquez was lifted for Mark Leiter Jr. with two outs in the fourth, Braun slammed his second homer of the game, a two-run shot down the left field line for an 11-0 advantage.

The Brewers ultimately scored six runs in the fourth.

The Phillies got on the scoreboard in the fourth when Carlos Santana hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Scott Kingery.

Santana led off the seventh with a solo homer to get the Phillies within 11-2. Jesmuel Valentin added a single to close the gap to 11-3. Andrew Knapp then contributed a pinch-hit sacrifice fly.
