Angels 3, Tigers 1 (10): Albert Pujols belted an RBI double to straightaway center field to push across the go-ahead run and give the Los Angeles Angels a three-game sweep of host Detroit.

J.B. Shuck and Mike Trout each singled to begin the 10th in front of Pujols, who sent a towering drive to center off Phil Coke (0-5) that appeared to land in Austin Jackson’s glove for a spectacular over-the-shoulder catch before popping out and hitting the ground as Jackson made contact with the wall. Josh Hamilton added a sacrifice fly to help make a winner out of Kevin Jepsen (1-2) in relief.

Jered Weaver walked two and allowed a run on four hits in a season-high seven innings while Trout recorded four hits and Brad Hawpe drove in a run for the Angels. Ernesto Frieri worked around a leadoff single in the bottom of the 10th for his 19th save.

Detroit struck first, pushing a run across in the second when it recorded three of its four hits off Weaver, including Brayan Pena’s two-out RBI single. Los Angeles got that run back in the fourth when Hawpe’s single to right plated Hamilton.

Doug Fister started for the Tigers and was nearly as sharp as Weaver, surrendering a run on seven hits in seven innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Angels placed RHP Tommy Hanson (forearm strain) on the 15-day disabled list. Hanson was scratched from his scheduled start on Wednesday 15 minutes before the first pitch. Los Angeles recalled LHP Michael Roth from Double-A Arkansas to take Hanson’s roster spot. … Detroit RHP Anibal Sanchez (right shoulder strain) threw a 40-pitch simulated game on Thursday morning and will make a minor-league rehab start on Monday. … The Tigers will head out for a three-game series at Tampa Bay beginning on Friday while the Angels will continue their road trip at Houston.
