Reds 9, Giants 0: Ryan Ludwick homered and Bronson Arroyo gave up one hit over seven shutout innings as visiting Cincinnati took a 2-0 lead in the National League Division Series.

Arroyo (1-0) retired the first 14 batters and won for the first time in seven career starts at AT&T Park. He walked one and fanned four while throwing 91 pitches for the Reds, who recorded their first postseason shutout since Game 1 of the 1990 World Series.

After Ludwick belted a solo homer in the second, the Reds added to their lead in the fourth when Ryan Hanigan’s two-run single capped a three-run rally off Madison Bumgarner (0-1), who allowed four runs over 4 1/3 frames.

Tim Lincecum contributed two scoreless innings in his third career relief appearance before Jose Mijares replaced him in the eighth and opened the floodgates by allowing the first three batters of the inning to reach base.

The Reds sent nine batters to the plate in the eighth and scored five runs on five hits, with Jay Bruce sparking the outburst with a two-run double off Mijares. Hanigan, Drew Stubbs and Brandon Phillips broke the game open with one-out run-scoring hits off Guillermo Mota.

Brandon Belt delivered the only hit in the first eight innings for the Giants, who were outhit 13-2 and failed to advance a runner to second base until the eighth. The best-of-five series continues with Game 3 on Tuesday at Great American Ball Park, where the Reds went 50-31 this season.

Joey Votto had three hits and Hanigan added two hits and three RBI for the Reds, who have outscored the Giants 14-2 in the first two games of the series.
