Padres 2, Brewers 0: Mark Kotsay hit a two-run pinch-hit homer with one out in the eighth inning as host San Diego snapped a three-game losing streak.
After Will Venable singled, Kotsay crushed a 1-1 fastball from Francisco Rodriguez (0-3) over the right field wall for the fourth pinch-hit homer of his career and second game-winning pinch hit in the last six games.
Kotsay delivered a two-run double in the eighth inning Thursday to lift San Diego to a 2-1 victory over Washington.
Andrew Cashner (2-1) pitched a scoreless eighth and Huston Street worked a perfect ninth with two strikeouts for his fourth save in four opportunities.
San Diego's Edinson Volquez allowed three singles, walked two and struck out four in seven innings. He retired 10 straight Brewers until Ryan Braun singled with two outs in the sixth. The Padres have scored 14 runs in Volquez's six starts.
Shaun Marcum allowed three singles, walked four and struck out six in seven innings as Milwaukee fell to 2-3 on its nine-game road trip.
Braun finished 1-for-4, one night after he recorded his first three-homer game, matched a career high with six RBIs and set a Brewers record with 15 total bases in Milwaukee's 8-3 victory.
