Brewers 8, Cubs 0: Zack Greinke struck out 12 over seven innings and Taylor Green hit his first career home run for host Milwaukee.
Greinke (7-2) allowed two hits with two walks on 109 pitches to extend his home winning streak to a franchise-record 15 decisions.
One game after the Cubs snapped an 11-game road losing streak with a 10-0 victory over the Brewers, they managed only three hits against Greinke and two relievers.
Milwaukee sent nine batters to the plate and scored four runs in the fourth inning, starting with RBI doubles by Ryan Braun and Cody Ransom.
Conrad capped the rally with his two-out single off Paul Maholm (4-5), who was pulled after the fourth. Maholm fell to 0-5 in his last seven starts against the Brewers.
The Cubs struck out 15 times, giving them 29 in the first two games of the series. Leadoff hitter Tony Campana struck out in each of his four at-bats Wednesday.
The Brewers’ Norichika Aoki was moved to the leadoff spot just before the game and responded by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.
Green capped the Brewers’ scoring with a three-run homer off Carlos Marmol with one out in the eighth.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez (quad) missed his third straight game, but is expected to avoid the disabled list. … The Cubs have lost each of Maholm’s last five starts. … Milwaukee has used a different starting lineup in each of the last 20 games. …Since being acquired by Milwaukee prior to last season, Greinke is 15-0 with in 21 regular-season home starts, with the Brewers winning 20 times.
