Terrence Shannon Jr. scored a game-high 15 points Monday as No. 13 Texas Tech beat No. 9 Oklahoma 57-52 to snap the Sooners' five-game winning streak.

Neither team could find a steady offensive rhythm. Oklahoma played without two starters, top scorer Austin Reaves and Alondes Williams, for the second straight game due to COVID-19 protocols and seemed out of sorts most of the night.

Without their all-conference level playmaker, the Sooners (11-5, 6-4 Big 12) shot just 33.3 percent from the floor, 18 of 54. Texas Tech (13-5, 5-4) also finished at 33.3 percent, 17 of 51, and had to compensate for sparkplug Mac McClung being blanketed all night. He finished with only six points and was 0-for-7 from the floor -- his first conference game without at least 16 points.

Shannon hit four free throws without a miss in the closing seconds. Texas Tech's Kevin McCullar added 13 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had four steals.

Umoja Gibson topped the Sooners with 14 points and hit three 3-pointers. De'Vion Harmon had 12 points and Brady Manek added 11 for Oklahoma, which shot just 6 of 22 from long range.

With the shooting woes plaguing both teams, neither could carve out much breathing room. Oklahoma clawed back from a 25-18 deficit at the break to knot the score 33-33 with 12:45 to go when Gibson made all three free throws when he was fouled on a 3-point attempt.

The Red Raiders finally gained separation thanks to back-to-back 3-pointers: McCullar after a near Sooners steal, then Shannon on a feed from McCullar. Those two plays stretched the Texas Tech lead to 50-40 with 3:21 to go.

Oklahoma refused to go quietly. Gibson pumped in a 3-pointer at the 1:01 juncture to close the gap to 52-50, and Jalen Hill worked his way inside for a layup to pull the Sooners within 54-52 with 24 seconds on the clock.

That was the last shot Oklahoma knocked down. Texas Tech iced the win by hitting 7 of 8 free throws in the last 1:13.
