Mariners 6, Athletics 3 (10): Pinch hitter Kendrys Morales hit a three-run homer with one out in the bottom of the 10th to lift Seattle over visiting Oakland for the second consecutive day.
Morales slammed the first pitch he saw from Grant Balfour (0-1) well over the right-center field fence. It was his second career walkoff homer, the other coming against the Mariners on May 29, 2010 when he hit a grand slam for the Los Angeles Angels and broke his leg in the celebration at home plate.
Raul Ibanez homered twice and drove in three runs for Seattle. Oliver Perez (2-1) pitched two innings of shutout relief as the Mariners improved to 8-5 against Oakland this season.
Ibanez hit a two-run blast in the first and a solo shot in the fourth off Oakland starter Jarrod Parker. The Athletics pushed across sixth-inning runs on a wild pitch by Jeremy Bonderman and an infield out by Josh Reddick and tied the contest in the eighth when Brandon Moss homered off Danny Farquhar.
Parker allowed three runs and five hits in seven innings. Bonderman gave up two runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Ibanez hit three homers in the series and has four in the last six games. … Oakland C John Jaso entered the game as a pinch hitter and went 0-for-2 after missing the first two games of the series with a left palm injury. … Mariners CF Franklin Gutierrez departed in the sixth inning due to a tight hamstring.
