Athletics 4, Royals 3: Yoenis Cespedes belted a tiebreaking home run to lead off the eighth inning and host Oakland completed a three-game sweep.

Jed Lowrie had an RBI single and Josh Donaldson and Coco Crisp each plated a run with a sacrifice fly as the Athletics erased a 2-0 deficit for their third one-run victory of the series.

Cespedes' blast - his eighth - off Kelvin Herrera (2-4) made a winner of Jerry Blevins (3-0), who tossed a scoreless inning of relief before Ryan Cook survived a two-out jam in the ninth to earn his first save of the season. Athletics right-hander A.J. Griffin allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings.

Alex Gordon tied a career high with four hits and had a run-scoring single and Chris Getz and Eric Hosmer each had RBI hits for the Royals, who managed only five runs in the series. Royals starter Luis Mendoza was charged with three runs - two earned - on eight hits in six-plus innings

Kansas City led in all three games and went up 2-0 on RBI singles by Gordon and Getz through four innings. Hosmer's run-scoring double in the fifth made it 3-1 but Lowrie had an RBI single in the bottom of the frame and Crisp tied it with a sacrifice fly in the seventh after center fielder David Lough misplayed Derek Norris' single.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gordon extended his hitting streak to seven games and also has a major league-best 20 multi-hit games. ... Athletics LHP Hidki Okajima, who was called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, threw a scoreless seventh in his season debut Sunday. He last pitched in the majors with Boston in 2011. ... Oakland kicks off a six-game road trip with three games in Texas starting Monday while Kansas City continues its nine-game road trip at Houston on Monday.
