Athletics 11, Astros 5: Josh Donaldson and Brandon Moss hit back-to-back homers as part of a four-run fourth inning and visiting Oakland remained unbeaten against Houston this season.
Each of the nine Oakland starters drove in at least one run and Chris Young had three of the Athletics’ season-high 18 hits. Donaldson went 4-for-4 for the Athletics, who have won seven of their last eight games.
Jason Castro and Matt Dominguez hit two home runs apiece for Houston, which has lost all eight meetings against the Athletics. Castro gave the Astros a brief lead with a solo homer in the first before Oakland erupted for six runs in the second.
Young sparked the big inning with a two-run double off Lucas Harrell (3-6), who was charged with six runs over 1 2/3 innings. The right-hander has allowed 14 runs in six innings over two starts against Oakland this season.
Dominguez hit the first of his two solo homers in the third off A.J. Griffin (5-3), who allowed four runs while striking out seven over 5 2/3 innings. Dominguez has three home runs in his last two games and seven in his last 12.
