Astros 4, Pirates 2 (11): Jason Castro doubled and scored on a close play at home plate in the top of the 11th inning to snap a tie and lift visiting Houston to a comeback win.
Castro, whose double hit about a foot from the top of the center-field wall, moved to third on a wild pitch by Bryan Morris (1-2) and came home on Matt Dominguez's grounder to second. Neil Walker was quick with the throw home but umpire C.B. Bucknor ruled that Russell Martin's tag was too late. Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle was ejected arguing the call.
J.D. Martinez added an RBI single later in the frame to give a two-run cushion to Jose Veras, who picked up his sixth save. Rookie Jose Cisnero (1-0) struck out five in 3 2/3 dominant innings to pick up the win.
Andrew McCutchen doubled and scored in the first and sixth innings to help Pittsburgh build a 2-1 lead. Chris Carter's run-scoring base hit in the eighth tied it for the Astros.
Pittsburgh starter A.J. Burnett lasted seven innings for the fourth straight start, allowing a run on five hits while fanning seven. Former Pirate Erik Bedard gave up two runs in six frames for Houston.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Astros 2B Jose Altuve was activated from the bereavement list Saturday. He was 3-for-5 and drove in Houston's first run in the fifth with a base hit. ... McCutchen is 7-for-14 with three doubles and a homer in his last three games. ... Pittsburgh RHP Mark Melancon allowed the tying run in the eighth. It was the first run he had allowed since April 14.
