Rangers 12, Astros 7: Adrian Beltre went 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs as visiting Texas completed a three-game sweep of Houston.
David Murphy and Leonys Martin also homered and Leury Garcia scored four times as the Rangers improved to 19-4 in their last 23 games against the Astros.
Nick Tepesch (3-3) struck out eight in six innings and allowed one run and four hits to snap a personal two-game losing streak.
Texas jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Houston got on the board on Jason Castro’s solo homer in the fourth. Lance Berkman had a run-scoring double in the first and Murphy hit a two-run homer off Jordan Lyles (1-1) in a four-run third to make it 5-0.
Beltre’s run-scoring double capped a three-run fourth, while Martin homered in the fifth and Beltre hit a three-run shot later in the inning to boost the lead to 12-1. Houston tallied four times in the eighth on Castro’s single and a three-run blast by Chris Carter, and twice more in the ninth on a home run by Brandon Barnes.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Garcia and Elvis Andrus each had three hits and Texas had 17 overall. … Houston dropped to 6-16 at home. … Berkman has an 18-game hitting streak at Minute Maid Park and is 10-for-23 against the Astros this season.
