Rockies 9, Rays 3: Carlos Gonzalez delivered the go-ahead home run and rookie Nolan Arenado sealed it with his first career grand slam as Colorado snapped an 11-game losing streak to American League teams at home.
Troy Tulowitzki had three hits and three RBIs and Jon Garland (3-2) allowed three runs in five innings for the Rockies. Arenado's blast over the left-center field wall chased David Price with two outs in the seventh to cap the five-run frame and give Colorado a 9-3 lead.
Price (1-3), the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner, allowed nine runs and 11 hits while walking three and striking out five. James Loney had three hits and an RBI while Kelly Johnson drove in a pair for the Rays.
Tulowitzki's RBI single in the first inning opened the scoring and his two-run double into the right-center gap tied the game at 3 in the third. Tampa Bay scored three runs in the top of the frame on Loney's double to left and Johnson's two-run single to right - both with two outs.
Gonzalez crushed Price's 1-1 offering over the center field wall to lead off the fifth. The Rockies' first run in the seventh scored on Michael Cuddyer's infield hit, allowing Gonzalez to score his third run.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Rays SS Yunel Escobar left the game after being hit in the left hand by a Garland pitch in the second inning. He was taken to a hospital for X-rays, which were negative. ... Tulowitzki has 27 RBIs to match his total from 2012, when he played only 47 games before suffering a season-ending groin injury. ... Rockies CF Dexter Fowler did not play after leaving Friday's game with soreness in his right hip flexor.
