Dodgers 10, Giants 0: Matt Kemp went 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs and Chad Billingsley pitched into the eighth inning as visiting Los Angeles pulled within one game of the National League West-leading Giants.
Billingsley (6-9) allowed four hits with no walks over 7 1/3 innings to earn his first win at AT&T Park since July 2007.
Kemp snapped a 1-for-17 slump with his two-run shot in the first against Barry Zito (8-7), who gave up four runs over 5 1/3 innings. Kemp came within a triple of hitting for the cycle.
The Dodgers led 4-0 before adding three more runs in the seventh, starting with A.J. Ellis’ leadoff homer. With two outs, Andre Ethier reached on an error before Kemp and Hanley Ramirez hit back-to-back RBI doubles.
San Francisco managed two doubles through seven innings before newest Giant Marco Scutaro and Brandon Crawford knocked Billingsley out of the game with back-to-back singles in the eighth.
The Giants were shut out for the fourth time this season and have lost three straight for the second time this month.
The Dodgers added three runs in the ninth off Brad Penny when Kemp doubled in a run and Ramirez followed with a two-run single. Ramirez had three RBIs and is 6-for-16 with six RBIs in four games since being acquired from Miami.
GAME NOTEBOOK: San Francisco put 3B Pablo Sandoval on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain. ….Kemp had two hits off Zito and is 24-for-52 (.462) lifetime against the left hander. …Giants 2B Emmanuel Burriss was designated for assignment to make room for Scutaro. … Dodgers SS Luis Cruz went 2-for-4 and extended his career-high hitting streak to 11 games. ...Scutaro went 1-for-3 while batting seventh and playing third base
