Buster Posey continued his torrid hitting with a two-run homer and three RBIs and Madison Bumgarner pitched six strong innings as visiting San Francisco built a 6-0 lead en route to wining its second straight over Colorado.

Angel Pagan had four hits, homered and had three RBIs and Melky Cabrera homered, scored three runs, drove in two and walked four times for the Giants, who scored 19 runs in eight games prior to totaling 27 in the first two games of this series.

San Francisco maintained its one-half game lead in the National League West over the Los Angeles Dodgers, which defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-1 on Saturday.

Bumgarner (12-6) improved to 3-2 with an exceptional 2.59 ERA at Coors Field. He allowed one run, five hits, walked one and struck out seven in his fifth consecutive quality start.

Rookie Matt McBride had two hits and an RBI in his first major-league game and rookie Josh Rutledge hit his fifth homer in six contests for the Rockies, who have lost seven of their last eight and are 5-15 since the All-Star break.

Jeff Francis (3-4) lost his second straight start. He allowed six runs on nine hits in 3 2/3 innings and saw his home ERA rise to 7.33.

Posey’s homer came in the first inning and Cabrera delivered a solo shot in the third. Run-scoring singles by Joaquin Arias and Pagan and a run-scoring walk to Cabrera in the fourth chased Francis.
