Twins 5, Brewers 4 (11): Trevor Plouffe hit a solo homer in the top of the 11th inning to lift visiting Minnesota to its season-high fourth consecutive win.
Brian Dozier added a pair of sacrifice flies and Carl Pavano pitched six strong innings for the Twins.
Manny Parra (0-1) got two quick outs in his second inning of relief but fell behind Plouffe 2-0. The utility man, who came into the game with a .135 batting average, got the fastball he was seeking and sent it out to left-center for his fourth homer.
Jeff Gray (3-0) got the win in relief and Matt Capps worked the bottom of the 11th for his ninth save.
The Twins led on three separate occasions, only to have the Brewers fight back each time. The clubs traded runs in the fourth and sixth before Minnesota took a 3-2 lead in the seventh when Ben Revere was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
The Twins pushed it to 4-2 in the eighth on Jamey Carroll’s RBI single and brought on Jared Burton in the bottom of the frame to set up Capps. Burton struck out a pair sandwiched around Nyjer Morgan’s single but served up a 2-0 fastball on the inside part of the plate to Aramis Ramirez, who deposited it over the left field wall to knot it at 4-4.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Twins C Joe Mauer had a scheduled day off but came on as a pinch hitter in the eighth. … Minnesota OF Ryan Doumit (calf) was out of the starting lineup for the third straight day but appeared as a pinch hitter Saturday, taking a walk before being replaced by a pinch runner. … The Brewers designated veteran reliever Vinnie Chulk for assignment before the game and recalled left-hander Juan Perez.
