Rangers 5, Indians 2: Pinch hitter Adrian Beltre hit a three-run homer in the 11th inning as Texas halted its three-game losing streak.
Mitch Moreland went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Rangers, who also ended the Indians' winning streak at three.
Joe Smith (1-1) intentionally walked Moreland with a runner on second and one out before Beltre deposited a 1-0 offering over the wall in center field, snapping a 2-2 tie. It was the fifth blast of the year for Beltre, who has not started the last four games due to a sore left hamstring.
Alexi Ogando (1-0) notched the win and Joe Nathan recorded his seventh save in eight opportunities.
Texas got on the board in the second as Mike Napoli led off with a single, advanced to third on a pair of groundouts and scored on Ian Kinsler's infield single.
The Rangers doubled the lead in the fourth when Nelson Cruz hit a leadoff single and came home two batters later on a double by Moreland. With runners on second and third and none out, Indians starter Derek Lowe worked out of the jam to avoid further damage.
Cleveland evened the score in the eighth as Derek Holland exited after allowing back-to-back one-out singles in favor of Mike Adams, who promptly yielded Asdrubal Cabrera's RBI double. With Carlos Santana at the plate, Jason Kipnis raced home from third with the tying run on a passed ball by Napoli.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cabrera registered half of the Indians' eight hits. ... Cleveland was solid defensively as it turned four double plays while right fielder Shin-Soo Choo recorded an assist. ... Four of the Rangers' five runs were scored with two outs.
