White Sox 6, Angels 1: A.J. Pierzynski and Adam Dunn each drove in a pair of runs as Chicago topped Los Angeles.

The White Sox took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on Pierzynski’s RBI single and tacked on three more runs an inning later, capitalizing on an error by Angels right fielder Mike Trout. With the bases loaded and two out, Dunn delivered a two-run single that knocked Los Angeles starter C.J. Wilson (4-4) out of the game.

Paul Konerko followed with an RBI base hit against reliever Dave Carpenter to make it 4-0.

That was more than enough for Chris Sale (4-2), who limited the Angels to one run on five hits in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out seven while walking just one.

Nate Jones, Matt Thornton and Jesse Crain combined to hold Los Angeles to one hit the rest of the way.

Albert Pujols broke up Sale’s shutout bid with a solo home run in the sixth inning, his third of the season and second in as many days. Chicago got the run back in the eighth on a solo homer by Dayan Viciedo, and Pierzynski added another RBI base hit in the ninth.

Wilson lasted just 3 2/3 innings after allowing four runs — three of them unearned — on four hits and six walks. He needed 88 pitches to retire 11 batters.
