Reds 3, Mets 1: Johnny Cueto allowed just one run over seven innings, and Zack Cozart and Joey Votto each had three hits as visiting Cincinnati won its sixth straight.

The Reds scored three times in the fifth inning, taking advantage of a New York error to plate the go-ahead run. Cincinnati moved a season-high 10 games over .500 (37-27), while the Mets lost for the ninth time in 13 games.

Votto finished 3-for-4, raising his average to .366, taking over the major-league lead in average.

Cueto (8-3) allowed six hits in seven innings, walking one and striking out eight. The one walk came to New York starter Chris Young (1-1) with the bases loaded in the second, scoring Ike Davis and giving the Mets a 1-0 lead.

Cincinnati struck back in the fifth. Wilson Valdez singled home Cozart to tie the game at 1-1. Brandon Phillips singled home Valdez to snap the game, and on Lucas Duda’s throwing error, Votto scored to make it 3-1 Reds.

Young gave up nine hits and three runs (two earned) in seven innings, walking two and striking out two.

Sean Marshall pitched the ninth for his ninth save.
