White Sox 7, Blue Jays 2: Alex Rios hit one of five Chicago home runs and Francisco Liriano earned his first win with his new team as the White Sox secured a rare series win in Toronto.

Dayan Viciedo and Tyler Flowers hit back-to-back homers in the fifth inning and Dewayne Wise and Alexei Ramirez also went deep in support of Liriano (4-10), who was victorious for the first time in four starts since joining the White Sox in a deadline trade with Minnesota.

Rios' blast, a three-run shot in the eighth inning, broke open a close game as the White Sox earned their first series victory in Toronto since August 2006. The win moved Chicago 2 1/2 games ahead of idle Detroit atop the American League Central standings.

Moises Sierra hit a two-run homer for the Blue Jays, who had to do without yet another member of the starting lineup. Edwin Encarnacion sat out the series finale after injuring his shoulder diving for a fly ball in Wednesday's game.

Sierra kicked off the scoring in the second inning. After David Cooper reached on a one-out single, Sierra belted a Liriano offering into the Toronto bullpen in left field for his second major-league homer.

The White Sox trimmed the deficit in the third as Wise took Aaron Laffey (3-4) over the right-field wall for his fifth home run of the season and second in as many games. Viciedo tied things with a line-drive shot to right in the fifth inning, and Flowers followed with a shot that cleared the facing of the fourth deck in left-center field.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Liriano worked 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits while fanning six. Laffey was charged with three runs on three hits with five strikeouts in his six-inning stint. ... The game was delayed in the bottom of the seventh inning as medical personnel attended to a fan sitting down the third-base line. ... Chicago hit 10 home runs in the series. ... White Sox C A.J. Pierzynski went hitless in four at-bats, ending his 16-game hitting streak.
