Orioles 8, Pirates 6: Adam Jones went 4-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs as Baltimore cruised to victory in the opener of its three-game interleague series.
Brian Roberts collected three hits and an RBI in his first game in more than a year while Chris Davis and Mark Reynolds added two-run homers for the Orioles, who have won five of seven.
Jones led off the second inning with a double and scored on Reynolds' fourth blast of the season to that gave Baltimore a 2-1 lead. He delivered an RBI single in the third and led off the fifth with his 18th home run before adding a base hit in the eighth.
Roberts, who hadn't played since May 16, 2011 due to a concussion, started at second base and batted in the leadoff spot. The veteran recorded three singles and lifted a sacrifice fly during the Orioles' four-run sixth.
Wei-Yin Chen (6-2) improved to 4-0 at home despite allowing four runs and eight hits over 6 1/3 innings. Two relievers bridged the gap to Jim Johnson, who recorded the final two outs for his 19th save in 20 chances.
Pittsburgh's Brad Lincoln (3-2) lasted just 4 1/3 frames, surrendering four runs and nine hits in his third start of the year.
Neil Walker homered and drove in three runs while Casey McGehee also went deep for the Pirates, who had their four-game winning streak snapped.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Orioles RF Endy Chavez left the game for a pinch runner in the sixth inning with a leg injury. ... Baltimore LH Brian Matusz is likely to make his scheduled start on Wednesday after suffering a nose contusion after a bunt attempt hit him in the face while he was taking batting practice. ... The Pirates signed C Wyatt Mathisen to a contract. Mathisen was Pittsburgh's second-round pick in last week's First-Year Player Draft.
