Trevor Cahill allowed one run over seven dominant innings, and Josh Willingham had a three-run homer and five RBIs as the visiting Oakland Athletics defeated the Texas Rangers 7-2 on Monday.
Cahill (6-0) shut down the defending American League champions for the second time in 10 days, and joined Jered Weaver and Max Scherzer as the only six-game winners in the majors.
Cahill allowed five hits, walked one and struck out seven, and improved to 3-0 in four starts at Texas.
Rangers starter C.J. Wilson (4-2) allowed five runs, two hits, walked five and struck out two in seven innings.
With two outs in the third, Wilson issued consecutive walks to Daric Barton and Conor Jackson before Willingham's blast made it 3-0.
Willingham's two-run single highlighted Oakland's four-run eighth, which also included an RBI double by Kurt Suzuki and a sacrifice fly by Mark Ellis.
Mitch Moreland hit a solo homer in the fifth and Michael Young had an RBI single in the eighth for Texas.
