Derek Holland pitched a five-hit shutout and the Texas Rangers belted three home runs en route to their eighth straight victory, 5-0 over the host Seattle Mariners on Thursday.
Holland (8-4) struck out eight and walked one while tossing his second straight shutout and third of the season.
Josh Hamilton, Nelson Cruz and Mike Napoli homered for Texas, which has gone deep 13 times and outscored its opponents by a 58-22 margin during its winning streak.
Holland retired the first 15 batters he faced before walking Franklin Gutierrez to start the sixth. Chone Figgins followed with a single for Seattleās first hit.
Hamilton launched his 12th homer of the season in the first inning and Cruz hit an opposite-field blast in the second for his 21st homer.
Michael Young had a run-scoring single in the third to make it 3-0.
Napoli, who had three hits, delivered his 13th homer in the sixth and Elvis Andrus had an RBI single later in the inning to give Texas a five-run lead.
Jason Vargas (6-7) was pounded for five runs and 12 hits in six innings for Seattle, which has lost six in a row.
