Jered Weaver pitched his second shutout of the season and the Los Angeles Angels won back-to-back games for the first time in more than two weeks with a 4-0 win over the host Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.

Weaver (8-4) scattered five hits and struck out six to earn his first road win since April 20. He improved to 11-4 lifetime against the Mariners and has allowed nine runs in his last eight starts against them.

The Angels staked their ace to a four-run first-inning lead against Seattle's Doug Fister (3-8), who absorbed his third straight defeat.

Torii Hunter, Howard Kendrick and Russell Branyan had run-scoring singles, and Peter Bourjos capped the outburst with an RBI double to give the Angels their 4,000th win in franchise history.

Los Angeles won consecutive games for the first time since May 29-30 and pulled within 3 1/2 games of front-running Texas and 1 1/2 behind Seattle in the American League West.

Ichiro Suzuki had his fourth straight two-hit game and Fister gave up four runs on seven hits in seven innings.
