Daniel Hudson threw seven strong innings and the host Arizona Diamondbacks snapped the San Diego Padres’ three-game winning streak with a 6-1 victory on Tuesday.
Hudson (4-5) allowed one run, eight hits, two walks and struck out six. The righthander has gone six or more innings in eight of his nine starts.
Miguel Montero went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for Arizona, which improved to 15-1 when leading after six innings.
Gerardo Parra went 2-for-4 and knocked in two runs with a single in the sixth to give the Diamondbacks a 4-1 lead.
Tim Stauffer (0-2) gave up four runs over 5 1/3 innings for the Padres, who went 4-4 on their eight-game road trip.
San Diego scored in the first on a sacrifice fly by Jason Bartlett, who tied the franchise record with an RBI in nine consecutive games.
