Miguel Montero hit a three-run homer and the streaking Arizona Diamondbacks notched their 11th victory in 13 games by posting a 6-3 win over the host Colorado Rockies on Thursday.
Montero’s fourth-inning homer off Clayton Mortensen (1-2) was his first since April 28 and it helped Arizona move two games above .500 for the first time this season. Colorado (24-25) fell below .500 for the first time since losing on Opening Day.
Stephen Drew and Chris Young walked to start the Arizona fourth before
Montero’s blast to right-center field gave the Diamondbacks a 3-0 lead.
Kelly Johnson added a two-run homer in the ninth for Arizona, which won
three of four games in the series against Colorado.
