Neil Walker, Lyle Overbay and Ryan Doumit hit consecutive RBI doubles in the eighth inning as the host Pittsburgh Pirates posted a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday.
Garrett Jones was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Pirates, who have won three straight games and six of eight.
Jones drew a leadoff walk from Chad Billingsley in the eighth and was replaced by pinch-runner Xavier Paul, who scored from first on Walker's double down the first-base line. Hong-Chih Kuo came on and surrendered run-scoring doubles to Overbay and Doumit, who collected three hits.
The rally made a winner of Jose Veras (1-1), who tossed a perfect eighth. Joel Hanrahan worked the ninth for his 11th save in as many opportunities.
Billingsley (2-2) suffered his first loss in five career decisions against the Pirates. The righthander allowed three runs and seven hits in seven-plus innings, and went 2-for-2 at the plate.
Aaron Miles and Rod Barajas also had two hits apiece for the Dodgers, who have lost seven of nine.
Los Angeles scored on Juan Uribe's RBI single in the first and Pittsburgh answered in the third on a run-scoring base hit by Jones.
