Ryan Braun singled in the go-ahead runs in the seventh inning as the Milwaukee Brewers snapped a three-game slide with an 8-2 victory over the host Houston Astros on Friday.
Casey McGehee and Prince Fielder each added two-run homers, and rookie Logan Schafer scored his first major league as the Brewers increased their lead in the National League Central to 8½ games over the St. Louis Cardinals.
After getting swept at home in a three-game series by the Cardinals earlier in the week, Milwaukee bounced back against the last-place Astros.
Houston starter Lucas Harrell kept the Brewers off the board - he allowed only three hits in 5 1/3 innings in his first National League start, but the Astros bullpen could not hold a 2-0 lead.
Milwaukee got to Aneury Rodriguez (1-6) in the seventh when it pushed its first run across on a wild pitch and took the lead when Braun lined a two-run single into left.
McGehee hit his 12th homer in the eighth and Fielder connected for his 31st in the ninth.
Zack Greinke (14-5) scattered nine hits and allowed two runs in six innings.
