Pinch hitter Jason Michaels delivered an RBI single to center field in the bottom of the 11th inning, lifting the Houston Astros to a 3-2 win over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday at Minute Maid Park and giving the Astros consecutive wins for the first time in more than a month.
Houston had not won back-to-back games since June 17-18 against the Dodgers, but it took the last two games of the three-game series for its first series win at home since taking two of three from the Dodgers from May 23-25.
Michaels' single against Todd Coffey scored Humberto Quintero, who led off the inning with a single.
Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 1-for-5 in his major league debut.
The Nationals have lost seven of 10.
