Humberto Quintero hit the go-ahead, two-run double and closer Brandon Lyon drove in a run in the 10th inning as the Houston Astros snapped a two-game losing streak with a 9-6 victory over the visiting Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.
Carlos Lee and Hunter Pence each homered for Houston, which battled back after Milwaukee tied the game in the ninth on a RBI double by Prince Fielder. The Astros ended a four-game losing streak at Miller Park, where they had lost 25 of their last 33.
Houston overcame another huge night from Ryan Braun, who hit his second homer in as many games and started the ninth inning rally with a single off Lyon (1-1). Braun's two-run homer off Astros’ starter Brett Myers pulled Milwaukee to within 6-5. Braun has reached base in all 20 games this season.
Brett Wallace’s one-out double off Sean Green (0-1) started the 10th for Houston. Two batters later, Quintero’s ground-rule double to center scored Wallace and former Brewer Bill Hall. Lyon, who blew his second save of the season a half-inning earlier, doubled in his first official at-bat. Prior to that, his only other plate appearance resulted in a walk.
Lyon pitched a perfect 10th.
