Nelson Figueroa (1-2) bounced back from two rocky starts to allow three runs - two earned - on six hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Jeff Fulchino pitched a perfect eighth and Brandon Lyon worked out of a ninth-inning jam for his third save and second of the series.

Hunter Pence and Angel Sanchez also drove in runs for Houston, which scored more than two runs against San Diego for the first time in six games.

Padres ace Mat Latos (0-2) was charged with all five runs on only four hits. He struck out six and walked two.

Chase Headley had a pair of doubles with two RBIs and Rob Johnson had three hits for San Diego. Teammate Orlando Hudson went 0-for-3 to snap his 11-game hitting streak, but he did draw a walk and has reached base in all 14 games.
