Mike Stanton homered twice and drove in four runs as the visiting Florida Marlins steamrolled the Chicago Cubs, 13-3, Saturday afternoon.
The Marlins took a three-run lead in the first inning against Carlos Zambrano (6-5). Hanley Ramirez opened the scoring with an RBI double and came in on a two-run single by Gaby Sanchez.
Stanton hit a solo home run in the fourth to make it 4-0, then broke the game open with two out in the fifth when he followed another run-scoring double by Ramirez with a three-run shot to right center, his 20th of the season.
Javier Vazquez (6-8) coasted to the win, allowing just four hits in seven innings while striking out 10 and walking none. All three Chicago runs came on an Aramis Ramirez homer in the sixth.
Zambrano lasted just 4 2/3 innings, giving up eight earned runs on seven hits and four walks.
Florida's Logan Morrison tacked on a three-run homer against reliever Ramon Ortiz in the sixth to stretch the margin to 11-0, and the Marlins added a pair of runs against Jeff Samardzija in the ninth.
