Daniel Hudson worked six-plus strong innings and Stephen Drew doubled in a pair as the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks got the better of the Florida Marlins, 5-1, on Sunday.
Ryan Roberts added a solo homer for the Diamondbacks, who have taken two straight and will look to clinch a win in the four-game series on Monday.
The Marlins had their miserable month continue. They are 1-10 since the calendar turned to June, falling to .500 (32-32) for the first time since April 12.
Arizona got all the runs it would need in the top of the first when Drew lined a double into the gap in right-center field off rookie Brad Hand (0-2), scoring two. Drew finished 3-for-4 and has three multi-hit games in the last five.
Hudson (7-5) made it stand up, cruising through the first six innings scoreless before running into trouble in the seventh. Hudson loaded the bases with none out but David Hernandez came on and held Florida to one run - a sacrifice fly - in snuffing out the rally.
Gaby Sanchez recorded two hits and the lone RBI for the Marlins.
